Although I own the vehicle; I am not the main user on the main vehicle insurance policy; in whose name do I apply for GAP?
Applicants (the policy holder) must be the registered owner or keeper of the motor vehicle and the vehicle must have a comprehensive motor insurance policy in your name or in the name of an authorised driver throughout the coverage period. This means that a vehicle owned by a company would be covered.
The policyholder must be named in the GAP Policy Schedule, the one whose name is the registered keeper of the vehicle and the authorised user of the vehicle (if applicable) who is named in the Finance, Contract Hire or Lease Agreement – all of whom should be mentioned in the main vehicle insurance policy.
